The showers mainly stayed away for our Seafront Stall. It seemed a pretty constant flow of people going by and we managed to raise £282.64.

Thanks to all who donated items and of course helped on the day.

Our latest event was Memories In Music, our version of Desert Island Disc's. The Castaway on this occasion was teacher and inspirational group leader Andy Dukes.

This event was held at St Aldhelm's Church Centre. A very enjoyable evening was spent in the company of a man who has lived an extraordinary life. Someone who has definitely looked to put others first. We had a glimpse of what he has achieved through both film and music. We are also extremely pleased to say that he is now part of our group.

The evening raised £255 with monies still coming in.

The FEBRUARY winners of the Bonus Ball were: Jane Walsh. Wendy Williams. Margaret Cobbald. Christine Jenkins.

Our group have ran a Bonus Ball "raffle" for several years now. It works very simply in that up to 59 people have a number from 1 to 59, which represents the numbers available on the lotto draw. We use the Saturday night draw and the winner is the person with the same number as the Bonus Ball on that weekly draw. The prize is £25.

We currently have 10 spaces left up for grabs so anyone who wishes to try their luck can contact our Treasurer, John Liles on 07989930223. It cost £1 per week for a 6 month or 12 month period i.e. £26 or £52.

All monies raised from this and all other fund raising activities throughout the year go toward the various charities and groups that we support, both locally and internationally. For example in the past we have supported; The Lantern, Julia's House, Mary's Meals, Water Projects in Nepal and Kenya, An Orphanage in Tanzania. Sadly there are always more projects than we have the funds for. But you can help some by helping us raise what we can.

Quiz and Chips Night

A Quiz and Chips Night was held on October 27 at St Aldhelms Church. The attendance was excellent with over seventy people taking part. As always John Liles gave us a comprehensive list of questions and entertained us for the whole evening. The fish and chips were supplied by Marlborough Fish and Chip shop. They were delivered on time and the general consensus was that they were excellent A heartfelt thanks must go out to St Aldhelms and from all who helped set up and later clear the room so it was left as found. All together a great evening
